Create availability rules

You can use availability rules to define when you can generally be booked.

Rules work according to the whitelist principle. This means that you specify when you are available and all periods outside your rules are automatically considered unavailable.

Example:

You are generally available for bookings from Monday to Friday from 8:00 to 20:00 and create a corresponding rule.

You are therefore

  • bookable: Monday - Friday, 8:00 a.m. - 8:00 p.m.

  • not bookable: Monday - Friday, 0:00 - 8:00 and 20:00 - 0:00 and Saturday and Sunday all day

Add rule

  1. Log in with your Expert Marketplace account and go to the "Bookings" page in your account settings.

  2. Click on "Add rule" in the "Availability" section.

  3. In the following window, select whether you want to create a weekly or monthly recurring rule and enter the corresponding days and times.

  4. Create several rules if, for example, you are available on different days of the week at different times or want to be bookable on certain days of the month outside normal times.

Configure rules

Rules offer several setting options so that you can define your available time periods as precisely as possible.

You can choose between

  • weekly rules or

  • monthly rules

Weekly rules

Here you can set times for individual days of the week from Monday to Sunday. If you are not available at the same times on all days, create two or more rules, one for each different period.
By default, your settings here apply to every consecutive week. However, if you have alternating schedules, you can specify that this rule is only applied every 2 weeks, for example.

Monthly rules

You can create more complex availabilities with monthly rules. Here you can define specific days of the month (e.g. every first day or every third Tuesday of the month).Monthly rules can also be used alternately (e.g. every first Monday of the month, every two months).

Connect Google, Outlook or iCloud calendar

For more precise availability information, you can connect your Google, Outlook or iCloud calendar in addition to the rules you have created.

All appointments in your linked calendars are automatically considered unavailable periods, even if they are within your rules.

For example, if you have defined in a rule that you are generally available Monday to Friday from 8 a.m. to 8 p.m. but there are appointments in your calendar within this period, Expert Marketplace will show you as unavailable on these dates and customers will not be able to book you.
